BUILDS
In my mind there are two ways of looking at design – aesthetics and environments.
AESTHETICS
Aesthetics how I apply a design mindset to an object that we use, and want to simultaneously be functional and beautiful or engaging.
Ducati Monster 650
I wasn’t even looking for a Ducati when I bought this bike, just something to play with. By the time I was done with it, it had been featured in Performance Bikes Magazine and won first place for best Ducati Monster in the OC.
1988 Honda Hawk
This is my dream bike. I had wanted one for 30 years before getting it. I made a ten hour round trip and rode it home. It was literally falling apart on the way back. Once I parked it, I realized the engine was hanging-on by one bolt and there was no brake fluid left in it. You could say I’m lucky to be alive.
1987 RX7 - classic car upgrade
This car, the RX7 is pure genius. I got from a guy who had it tucked away in a warehouse covered in dust. I did every modification imaginable to it. People would wave at me on the highway and stop to take pictures. The guy who bought it from me didn’t even test drive it, he just gave me a check and drove away.
ENVIROMENTS
With environments, it’s these same sensibilities, but applied to the numerous and varied spaces in which we dwell, live and spend time.
